Following the appointments made at the Shareholders’ Meeting held yesterday, 27 April 2026, the first meeting of the Board of Directors of Cassa di Risparmio di Asti S.p.A. was held today. During the session, the Board appointed Roberto Fiorini as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Fiorini will also assume the role of General Manager, succeeding Carlo Demartini.
Board Chair Maurizio Rasero stated: “I approach this new responsibility with determination and a sense of purpose, returning to serve the Bank where, as you know, I previously worked as Vice Chair. The institution is strongly positioned in the market and has all the credentials to play a leading role in the Italian banking and financial landscape — including, why not, through further acquisitions that could strengthen the Bank even more. At the same time, we must safeguard our presence across all territories we serve and counter the growing phenomenon of banking desertification, which data show has reached worrying levels. The Bank must compete in the market, certainly, but without forgetting the essential economic and social role it plays in the communities where it operates. It is the last Piedmontese bank of this size, with a genuine multi‑regional footprint, and this is the model we must continue to invest in,” Rasero concluded. “Our goal is to make Asti an increasingly prominent player in Italy.”
Newly appointed CEO Roberto Fiorini added: “In these first days at the helm of the Bank, I have found an institution with significant growth potential, supported by strong liquidity and capital levels. The challenge now is to balance the Bank’s solidity with profitability for all shareholders — large and small — and to launch a sustainable development path. I believe this goal is within reach by working with determination and by relying on the commitment of all colleagues, who represent an outstanding human and professional capital.”
